The story behind the work

I photograph the moments between the moments.

I grew up in a house where the family album was the most-opened book. At fifteen I borrowed my father’s film camera and photographed my cousin’s wedding on the ghats of Udaipur. Half the frames were out of focus, and I have never loved a set of pictures more.

Twelve years later I still work the way I did that day: close, curious and quiet. I would rather catch your grandmother wiping away a tear than direct a hundred poses. Your day deserves a photographer who watches the room, not the clock.
